The training covers an overview of the policymaking processes, actors in the policy making space, importance of evidence-informed decision-making (EIDM), barriers researchers encounter while engaging with decision-makers, important tips on turning research findings into policy, communicating evidence to different audience and evaluating adoption and impact of evidence in the policy making process.
Introduction to Adolescent Health
This course introduces learners to the basics of adolescent health. It provides information to learners about the history of adolescent health, definitions of adolescents and characteristics of adolescents. Basic changes that adolescents undergo and an overview of the common health problems and risk behaviours among adolescents are also described.

INTRODUCTION
About the development of this course
Since 2010, the APHRC has been working together to produce e-learning materials and courses on population health research. They have already produced XXX face-to-face and XXX online training courses for XXXX participants from public, private, and NGO sectors. Given the significant achievement in disseminating evidence-based knowledge and the high demand for similar courses, we seek to offer another important course on how to build the capacity of health and development researchers in the region in partnership with the WHO HRP Alliance.
The development of this course was motivated by the feedback received from health professionals, researchers, and faculty and development partners on the need to boost the SSA region’s research capacities via sustainable platforms.
